Alameda Acupuncturist Alex Tuggle L.Ac.

Alex Tuggle L.Ac., is a 2nd generation Acupuncturist and Qi Gong instructor. After being treated by his mother since early childhood for colds, flus, and later back pain issues, Alex Tuggle learned from a young age the healing benefits of alternative healing methods such as Acupuncture, Qigong, Chinese herbs, and holistic Nutrition, which he now incorporates in both his Alameda office "Golden Wellness Center" and San Francisco acupuncture office.

I am a California State Board Licensed Acupuncturist which certifies me as a primary care physician in the state of CA. I received my Master's of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (M.S.TCM) from Yo San University in Los Angeles, CA founded by Taoist lineage brothers Dr. Maoshing Ni and Dr. Daoshing Ni, along with their father and Taoist Master Hua Ching Ni, with whom I studied under since childhood.

I have also done post-graduate studies in Holistic Nutritional therapy and Orthomolecular Nutrition using Hair Mineral Analysis to diagnose endocrine disorders and heavy metal toxicities. I have studied and trained in various forms of Pain management acupuncture protocols such as "Trigger point" orthopedic acupuncture, Japanese Meridian Theory, Dr. Tan's and Master Tung's system, Balance method, Japanese Pulse and Hara diagnosis methods.

During my training I learned Traditional Asian Bodywork massage techniques such as Shiatsu, Tuina, Hara Abdominal massage, and Medical Qigong (subtle energy healing).

I have offices located in Alameda, CA 94501 and in San Francisco, CA 94107. If you would like a free 15 minute consultation, please fill out my Contact information form and I will get back to you in a timely manner.

Dear readers,

My life changed dramatically when I was twelve years old as I was hit by a car while rollerblading without a protective helmet. I suffered a serious head injury and a broken ankle and I was unconscious as they rushed me to the UCLA emergency room. I was held in intensive care for several days and was later released with a cast on my left leg from my hip to my foot, which later caused serious hip alignment issues and subsequent spine disorders.

Years later I started to experience tremendous pressure in my head and severe stiffness in my neck. I went to see a chiropractor who told me that my hips were completely out of alignment and I had semi-severe scoliosis in my mid-back.

I got regular chiropractic treatment for a couple years but my neck pain and stiffness wouldn't go away. I tried several other alternative therapies such as Cranio-sacral therapy, acupuncture, biofeedback therapy, and all of it helped but not enough to make any huge improvement.

Once I began practicing my Qigong exercises and getting Acupuncture treatments more regularly, as well as getting deep tissue shiatsu massage, my muscles were able to loosen up more than before as my nervous system began to relax. Qigong stretching exercises, Acupuncture, Trigger point release techniques, dietary balancing, avoiding sugar, alcohol, and spicy foods, taking Chinese herbs and Nutritional Balancing vitamins and supplements, and giving myself enough time to rest and relax my nervous system out of the "SHOCK" or "fight-or-flight" or even "freeze" response that my mind and body had been stuck in since my accident.

I have since dedicated myself to learning, practicing and teaching holistic remedies for chronic back pain such as many various forms of Qi gong, meditation, stretching, acupuncture, massage and herbal medicine. By understanding and practicing certain fundamental concepts, we can take control of our physical health by our own efforts./p>

I have studied many different forms of Taijiquan and Qigong from various teachers, most notably the "Ni family lineage" in Los Angeles, CA headed by Maoshing Ni and Daoshing Ni of the Tao of Wellness who's practices I have learned when I was a child.

I have also developed many of my own practices over the years. Every person has their own intuition and "body sense" and if you just listen quietly to the body, you can develop movements and exercises that are Self-healing and can transform your pains into healing energy. By slowing down and breathing deeply and naturally, you can find your center which will help to integrate the injuries back to wholeness and health.

Please go to my

Contact page and leave me a message if you would like to know more about my methods of treatment or if you are interested in Qigong lessons.
